Terms of Use

Cram Lock · Last updated September 14, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Cram Lock iOS application ("the App"), developed and published by Mack Ortis ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. The App

Cram Lock uses Apple's Screen Time framework to block apps you select until you correctly answer a flashcard. The App is provided for personal, non-commercial use on Apple devices you own or control.

2. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of the App.

3. Subscriptions

Some features of the App require a paid subscription ("Cram Lock Pro"). The following subscription options are offered:

The price of each subscription is displayed in the App before you confirm your purchase. Prices are shown in your local currency and may vary by region. Subscriptions may include a free trial; the length of any trial is shown in the App at the time of purchase.

4. Auto-renewal and billing

Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the price of the subscription plan you selected. Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

5. Managing and cancelling your subscription

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time by going to your Apple ID account settings on your device: open Settings, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you will retain access to paid features until then. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.

6. Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple. Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with the App Store Terms of Service. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support. We are unable to issue refunds directly.

7. Changes to pricing

We may change subscription prices from time to time. If a price increase applies to your subscription, Apple will notify you in advance and, where required, ask you to consent to the new price before it takes effect.

8. Screen Time and app blocking

The App relies on Apple's Screen Time (FamilyControls) API to restrict access to apps you choose. You are responsible for choosing which apps to block and for the settings you configure. The App is not a substitute for parental controls, medical advice, or professional treatment, and we do not guarantee that blocking will function in every circumstance (for example, if you revoke Screen Time permission, restore your device, or if Apple changes the underlying framework).

9. Disclaimer of warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Apple as third-party beneficiary

These Terms are between you and Mack Ortis, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you. In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the App to you; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it and cancelling any active subscription.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The most current version will always be posted at this page, with the "Last updated" date revised. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer resides, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local consumer protection law requires otherwise.
